Karina from Wheel House Warriors originally reached out to us about a child named Rourke & his family who were dealing with some spendy truck repairs that weren’t necessarily on the top of their priority list but definitely needed to be done.
Rourke is a sweet young boy who has been diagnosed with advanced leukemia at only 3 years old this past March ?
Mike & Chelsey (Rourke’s Parents) have been through been through hell & back ever since –
From the constant worry of their child’s health, to downgrading to cheaper vehicles with issues to make ends meet, to Mike even losing his job because his employer wasn’t okay with how much time he needed off to bring Rourke to his doctor appointments, and to so many other obstacles…
Let’s just say it was time that someone gave them some sort of pick me up! ?
That’s where MTH decided to step in –
Mike’s Truck had a laundry list of things that needed to be done to be fully operational again, so we agreed to fix those issues AND decided to throw in the MTH Touch while we were at it!
This whole thing was a complete surprise & Mike had NO IDEA what was going on… ?

Spouse Name: SGT Darby Todd Morin, KIA 8-22-09, Afghanistan
Children: Christian age 15, Bluesky age 13
Location: Monticello
Veronica has never remarried. She has raised her boys by herself. She has no family in Minnesota. She and Darby are part of the First Nation Tribe in Canada, which is where the majority of her family resides.
Christian and Bluesky have grown up without a father figure and until the last year have had little exposure to doing any “guy” type stuff, however, they both LOVE outdoorsy activities like fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling and using tools.
They are good kids and love and respect their mom immensely.
I have spent some time with them. They understand how hard it’s been for their mom and wish they could do more for her.
When I spoke to her and explained why you wanted to talk to her she told me that this is the time of year when she starts to think and worry about what kind of a Christmas she will be able to give to her boys.
Veronica is very humble and I know she will greatly appreciate the generosity of anyone who wants to help her bring some added JOY to their Christmas. The boys will also be appreciative.

Our mission is to assist teens and adults in gaining freedom from chemical addictions and other life controlling problems by addressing their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
In 1958, David Wilkerson traveled to New York City to minister to teens. There he found hard-core drug addiction as well as prostitution and gang violence. In order to help these teens, Wilkerson established the first “Teen Challenge Center” in the heart of New York City.
Over time, Teen Challenge expanded its programs, offering to help adults as well as teens. Now there are more than 200 centers across the United States and over 1,000 centers worldwide, making Teen Challenge the largest network of drug and alcohol programming in the world.
In 1983, Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge (MnTC) was established. And in 1993, Rich Scherber was installed as Executive Director and opened the first home. Since that time, MnTC has grown to over 11 campuses across the state with multiple program options to meet a broad spectrum of needs.
Today MnTC serves thousands, offering a full range of treatment and recovery services. We work with teens and their communities through our prevention program Know The Truth™ and lead Lakeside Academy, a Christian behavior and recovery center for teen boys. For men and women, we provide residential and out-patient licensed treatment, long term residential recovery with co-occurring mental health services and comprehensive aftercare support.
With the support of our partners, MnTC now serves over 700 clients on any given day and continues to look for new program options and locations that will help us respond to the increasing need to turn the tide on the drug epidemic.
